Q: How do I erase files from a CD-RW disc with Windows XP integrated support?

A: Use the following steps to erase files from a CD.

Note: Erasing the CD deletes all of the files on the CD. You cannot select individual files to delete.

  1. Open My Computer.

  2. In the My Computer window, double-click the CD recording drive. Windows displays the files and folders located on the CD.

  3. In the CD drive window, under CD Writing Tasks, click Erase this CD-RW. Windows displays the CD Writing Wizard.

Note: If there is no data on the CD-RW disk, the option to Erase this CD is not available. Additionally, if the CD you are using is not erasable, for example, a CD-R, then this feature is not available.
