DirectX Diagnostic Tool - DirectX Files Tab On the graphic, click the hyperlinks to view the other tabs. The DirectX Files tab provides information on the core DirectX files installed on the computer. In the Notes section, warnings about beta or debug versions of files are listed. Beta files are early test versions and should not be installed with commercial applications. Scroll below this graphic for more information about the DirectX Files tab.
Debug versions, which are used in program development and likewise should not be installed with the final product, can cause applications to run significantly more slowly than they do under the retail versions of the components. The language version of each file is also listed. It is important that the DirectX language and operating system language match. Individual file version numbers may differ from the overall version of DirectX installed and should be compared with a similarly configured computer for verification.
