Q: How do I create an Emergency Boot Disk in Windows Me?

  1. Insert a blank, formatted disk in the floppy disk drive.

  2. On your screen, locate and click the Start button. From the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

    Note: In Windows Me, click View All Control Panel options. You only need to click View All Control Panel options the first time you use the Control Panel.

  3. In the Control Panel, double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.

  4. In the Add/Remove Programs Properties dialog box, click the Startup Disk tab.

  5. Click Create Disk.

  6. In the Insert Disk dialog box, read the message carefully, and then click OK when the disk is ready.

  7. Click OK to close the Add/Remove Programs Properties window.
