Q: How do I remove and replace the floppy disk drive in the Profile 5 computer?A: Remove the floppy disk drive
- Turn off the computer, disconnect all cables, and then remove the case cover.
- Inside the case, remove the rear I/O panel assembly.
- Remove the screw that holds the floppy disk drive in place.

- Using a small flat screw driver, gently raise the brown portion of the floppy drive's data cable connector.

- Pull the end of the floppy data cable out of the connector.

- Push the floppy disk drive toward the front of the computer.

- At the front of the computer, pull the floppy disk drive out of the bay.

- Remove the four screws that hold the floppy disk drive in the bracket. There are two screws on each side of the bracket.

- Slide the floppy disk drive out of the bracket.

- If the floppy data cable needs to be removed, loosen its motherboard connector, and then remove the cable. Note the connection location for later.

Replace the floppy disk drive
- If needed, connect the white end of the new floppy cable to the motherboard. Be sure to press in the movable part of the connector to secure the cable.

- Place the new floppy disk drive into the bracket, and then secure it with the four screws.

- At the front of the computer, slide the floppy disk drive assembly into the bay until it is flush with the front of the computer.

- Inside the case, secure the drive in place with the screw removed previously.

- Connect the blue end of the floppy data cable to the floppy disk drive. Press down on the movable part of the connector to secure the cable.
- Replace the rear I/O panel assembly.
- Replace the case cover.
