Q: Why may the Gateway E-4610 computer power on briefly after loss of AC power?

A: If the power cord is removed from the computer and then plugged back in, or if AC power is lost and restored unexpectedly, the computer may briefly power on and then shut off again.

This is normal behavior for the motherboard used in the computer. When AC power is restored, the motherboard BIOS checks to see what the "Last State" of the BIOS was when the AC power was removed or lost.
