Note: The graphics in this document show the front bezel removed. However, it is not necessary to remove the front bezel to remove and replace a 5.25-inch drive in this case.
- Turn off the computer, and then disconnect the power cord.
- Remove the computer case left side panel.
- Inside the case, locate the 5.25-inch drive bays near the upper front corner.
- Remove the two screws that secure the drive you want to remove. If only one 5.25-inch drive is installed in the computer, it is in the top bay.

- Slide the drive toward the front of the computer slightly, and then at the rear of the drive, disconnect the power and data cables and if present, any audio cables.
- At the front of the computer, pull the drive out of the bay.
Replace the optical drive
- At the front of the computer, slide the drive most of the way into the open bay.
- At the rear of the drive, connect any audio cables that may have been disconnected previously. Connect the data and the power cables.
- Slide the drive back into the bay until the two screw holes in the drive align with the holes in the drive bay. Secure the drive in the bay with two screws.

- Replace the computer case left side panel.
- Connect the computer's power cord, and then turn on the computer.
