The steps in this document explain how to remove and replace the USB hard drive enclosure.
Note: Steps in this document show the computer's front bezel removed, but it is not necessary to remove the bezel to remove and replace the USB hard drive enclosure.
Remove the USB hard drive enclosure
- Turn off the computer, and then disconnect the power cord.
- If present, remove the USB hard drive.
- Remove the left side panel.
- The USB hard drive enclosure is installed in the external 3.5-inch drive bay.

- Inside the computer, remove the screw that secures the enclosure in the case.

- At the rear of the USB hard drive enclosure, follow its two cables to their connections with a power lead and to the motherboard. Note these connections, and then disconnect the cables.
- Slide the USB hard drive enclosure out of the front of the computer case.

Replace the USB hard drive enclosure
- At the front of the computer, route the USB hard drive enclosure cables through the 3.5-inch drive bay, and then slide the enclosure into the bay.

- Connect the enclosure's power cable to the small 4-pin (floppy disk drive) power lead. Connect the enclosure's USB cable to the motherboard.
- Secure the USB hard drive enclosure in the case with one screw.

- Replace the left side panel.
- Plug in the power cord, and then turn on the computer.
