Connected Music Player Software Installation

  1. Connect audio cables to the audio RCA jacks or digital audio connector of the Connected Music Player and the stereo system.

  2. Connect a cable to the HPNA or Ethernet ports on the Connected Music Player and network jack.

  3. Connect the power cord to power connector on the Connected Music Player and an available outlet.

  4. Turn on the main power switch.

  5. Press the power button on front of the Connected Music Player.

  6. Place the Gateway® Connected Music Player Installation CD in the CD/DVD drive.

    Note: If the CD does not run automatically, from the Start menu, click Run. In the Open text box type: D:\cmp.exe (where D is the letter of the CD/DVD drive).

  7. The installation begins.

  8. In the Welcome dialog box, click Next.

  9. In the Music Player Found dialog box, if the number of Connected Music Players on the network is not correct click No, and then click Next.

  10. In the Restart dialog box, click OK.

  11. After the computer restarts setup continues. In the Standard Music Folders dialog box, make changes to the share properties of the folders. To change the share properties, click a folder listed in the Standard Music Folders selection box, and then click Shared or Not Shared. When finished with changes, click Next.

  12. In the Confirm Folders to Displayed by Music Player dialog box, perform the following steps.

    1. At the rear of the Music Player, turn off the main power switch, and then turn it back on.
    2. At the front of the Music Player, press the power button.
    3. Watch the display panel for the locating of music files in shared directories.
    4. Did your Music Player display music titles from your shared music folders? Select Yes or No, and then click Next.

    Note: If No was selected, following the onscreen instructions to troubleshoot the problem.

  13. At the Confirm that Music Plays dialog box, press the Play button on the Connected Music Player. Under Did your Music Player play the music file, select Yes or No, and then click Next.

  14. In the Other Music Files dialog box, select Yes or No, and then click Next.

  15. In the Finished dialog box, click Finish.
