Q: How do I use the Windows XP Wireless Zero Configuration to configure the wireless adapter in pre Service Pack Windows XP?

A: Pre Service Pack Windows® XP Wireless Zero Configuration

Note: Microsoft® Windows® XP has built-in configuration tools. Use the Windows XP Wireless Zero Configuration, located in the system tray at the bottom of your screen, to configure the adapter.

  1. After installing the adapter, the Windows XP Wireless Zero Configuration icon appears in your system tray. Double-click the icon of the two monitors.

    Note: If it has already been set up, right-click the icon and then select View Available Wireless Networks.

  2. If your network does not have WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) enabled, from the Available networks: list, select the network, and then click Connect.

    If your network has enabled WEP encryption, in the Connect to Wireless Network dialog box, in the Network Key box, type the WEP key, and then click Connect.

    Note: Windows XP does not support the use of a WEP passphrase. Type the exact key used by your access point.

  3. If the connection is successful, a Wireless Network Connection dialog box opens.

Advanced Configuration Screens

  1. After installing the adapter, the Windows XP Wireless Zero Configuration icon appears on your system tray. Double-click the icon of the two monitors.

  2. For Advanced Setup, click the Advanced button.
