Q: How do I enable/disable Browse Master?

A: Windows 98 and Windows Me

  1. From the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. In Control Panel, double-click the Network icon.

  2. In the Network dialog box, from the list of components, double-click File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks.

  3. By default, Browse Master should already be selected. Change the value to disabled, and then click OK.

    Note: This step is not necessary in Windows 2000 or Windows XP.
