Q: Broadcom Announces Wi-Fi Vulnerability

A: Broadcom announced that a recently found exploit with certain Broadcom wireless devices can allow hackers full access to a wireless computer with Broadcom Wi-Fi hardware. After an internal audit, Broadcom has validated the exploit and found several other minor security flaws. In response Broadcom has released a new driver, version 4.100.15.5, that addresses the security flaws. Any driver version at 4.100.15.5 or higher resolves those flaws. Broadcom has created tools for their internal driver test procedures to ensure that similar vulnerabilities do not occur in the future.

You can download version 4.100.15.5 from the Gateway FTP site.
