Installation instructions for the IBM Token-Ring

- On your screen, locate and click the Start button. From the Start menu, point to Settings, then click Control Panel. In Control Panel, double-click the Networks icon. Windows asks if networking should be installed. Click Yes.

- Windows NT will begin the setup initialization.

- Select Wired to the network, then click Next.

- The adapter will not be automatically detected, click Select from list to add the driver.

- Under Select network adapter, click Have disk.

- In the next dialog box, enter in the path for the NT drivers, then click OK.

- When the Select OEM option appears, select the IBM PCI Token-Ring and click OK.

- Select the proper adapter, then click Next.

- Select the protocols that will be used to connect to the network, then click Next.

- Select the Network services that will be used to properly connect to the network, then click Next.

- Windows NT is ready to install networking components, click Next to continue.

- Enter the proper path for the Windows NT 4.0 I386 directory, then click Continue.

- Setup prompts on whether to use DHCP, depending on whether you have an IP address, or connect to a DHCP server, choose Yes or No.

- Setup will copy the necessary files for the networking components.

- When copying is complete, choose the bindings for the network, then click Next.

- Windows NT will start the networking, click Next to start the network.

- Enter the computer name, workgroup, and domain to connect with. Click Next.

- Networking has been installed, click Finish to complete the installation.

- Setup will prompt for the computer to be shut down and restarted. Click Yes, the installation is complete.
