Q: I just installed my wireless card under Windows XP and I cannot get wireless. What might be the difficulty?

A: To resolve this, use the following steps.

  1. From the Start menu, Control Panel. In Control Panel, double-click the Network Connections icon.

  2. In the Network Connection window, right-click Wireless Network Connection, and then click View Available Wireless Networks.

  3. Select the available network that matches your Access Points SSID. Normally this would be Linksys.

  4. Click Connect. If "Connect" is not selected, click Allow me to connect to the selected wireless network, even though it is not secure.

  5. If a new window appears, verify that no options are selected, and then click Close.

Once this is done, you should be able to connect to your wireless network.
