The S-Video Out jack on the port replicator or docking station lets you view the computer display on a TV screen using a standard S-Video cable.
Connecting the Computer to a TV
Note: To enable external video by default, connect the TV or other external video device before starting the computer.
Note: DVD playback to a VCR is scrambled by copyright protection technology.
- Connect one end of a standard RCA video cable to the TV Out, or Composite Video, jack or connect one end of a standard S-Video cable to the S-Video Out jack.

With the computer off, connect one end of a standard S-Video cable to the S-Video Out jack on the port replicator or docking station.
- Connect the other end of the cable to the Video In connector on your television or VCR.
- Turn on the television or VCR.
- Start the computer.
- Open Control Panel.
- In Microsoft® Windows® XP, on the Start menu, click Control Panel. The Control Panel window opens. If your Control Panel is in Category View, click Appearance and Themes.
- In Windows® 98 or Windows® 2000, on the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- In Control Panel, click or double-click the Display icon.
- In the Display Properties dialog box, click the Settings tab.
- On the Settings tab, use the slider to set the screen area to 640 × 480.
- Click Advanced.
- Click the TwinView tab. On the TwinView tab, click Output Device. On the menu, click Select Output Device. Click TV Out, and then click Apply.
- Click OK.
