How to Replace the Hard Drive

Note: Before beginning, review electrostatic discharge precautions.

1. Shut down the computer, close the cover, and then disconnect the power adapter and modem cable.

2. Turn the computer over, and then remove the main battery and second battery, if installed.

3. Locate and remove the hard disk screws.
   

4. Pull the hard disk kit straight out from the computer.
   

5. Place the new hard disk kit in the bay and slide it into the connector.
   

6. Replace the screws to secure the hard disk to the computer.
