Q: How do I enable Autorun for my CD/DVD drive?

A: To enable the Autorun feature, perform the following steps:

  1. On your screen, locate and click the Start button. From the Start menu, point to Settings and click Control Panel. In Control Panel, double-click the System icon.

  2. In the System Properties dialog box, click the Device Manager tab.

  3. Next to CDROM, click the plus sign (+). Double-click your particular CD/DVD drive from those listed.

  4. In the CD/DVD drive's property dialog box, select the Settings tab.

  5. On the Settings tab in the Options area, click Auto insert notification. The check box now has an X in it. Click OK.

  6. In the System Properties dialog box, click OK.

  7. For this setting to take effect, restart the computer.
