Floppy disk drive The optional floppy disk drive is located on the left side of the computer. The drive uses 3.5-inch disks. Disks are useful for saving files for archive purposes or to use on another computer.

How to use a floppy disk

Warning: Do not expose disks to water or magnetic fields. Exposure could damage the data on the disk.

  1. Insert the disk into the floppy disk drive with the label facing up.

  2. To access a file on the disk, double-click the My Computer icon, double-click the drive letter, and then double-click the file.

  3. To remove the disk, make sure the drive activity light is off, and then press the disk eject button.
