Q: How do I change the touchpad, settings in Windows XP?

A: Note: The touchpad drivers must be installed to access the Mouse Properties settings for the touchpad.

Follow these steps to change the mouse settings.

1. From the Start menu, click Control Panel. With Control Panel in Category View, click Printers and Other Hardware.

2. In the Printers and Other Hardware window, click the Mouse icon.

3. In the Mouse Properties dialog box, click one of the tabs at the top, and then select the mouse settings you want to change.

4. To save the changes, click OK.

Follow these steps to change the touchpoint or touchpad settings.

1. In the Mouse Properties dialog box, click the Device Settings tab, and then click Settings.

2. To modify a touchpad setting, click the + in front of the setting you want to change, and then select the setting you want to use.

3. To save the changes, click OK.

Note: To enable or disable the touchpad, make your selection on the Device Settings tab, and then click OK.
