Q: How can I put a lock on my notebook computer?

A:
Kensington lock slot The graphic to the left shows one of the notebook's Kensington™ lock slots. It can be identified by the size, shape, and an icon (usually a lock with the letter K or a chain as shown below).

The Kensington™ lock connection allows the computer to be "locked" to items such as a desk. Insert the Kensington lock into this connection and secure the other end of the cable to a solid object.

To locate the Kensington lock slot on your computer, select your notebook type from our Support Documents page, and then click Product Views.
