Audio - Gateway M505 Realtek AC'97 Audio Driver Installation

Note: When using the Gateway M505 Series Application and Drivers CD Version 1.0, the sound driver is listed as "AC97 WDM SigmaTel Audio Driver" on the interface when the M505 actually has Realtek AC'97 Audio. The correct driver files are on the CD and the correct drivers are installed when installing from the interface.
  1. With the Microsoft® Windows® operating system started, place the Gateway Driver and Application Recovery CD in the ROM drive, and then close the tray. If this is your first time using the CD, read the End User License Agreement, select Yes I accept it, and then click Continue.

  2. The browser opens to the Drivers and Application Recovery tab. Select Automatic Installation.

  3. Select the AC97 WDM SigmaTel Audio Driver check box, and then click Install.

  4. In the Automatic Install dialog box, click OK.

  5. Files copy, and the Gateway Application Loader screen appears with a notice to not press any keys or buttons during this process.

  6. On the Gateway Application Loader screen, click Close.
