1. If your computer is equipped with a built-in microphone go to step 2, or plug a microphone into the microphone jack on your computer.

2. From the Start menu, point to Programs, Accessories, Entertainment, and then click Sound Recorder.

3. In the Sound Recorder dialog box, click (record), and then speak into the microphone.

4. When you finish recording, click (stop).

5. From the File menu, click Save As.

6. In the Save As dialog box, name the recording, specify the location, and then click Save. The recording is saved.

Use the following instructions to play an audio recording in the Sound Recorder.

1. From the Start menu, point to Programs, Accessories, Entertainment, and then click Sound Recorder.

2. In the Sound Recorder dialog box, from the File menu, click Open.

3. Select the file you want to play back, and then click Open.

4. Play the file by clicking (play). Stop playing the file by clicking (stop).
