Hardware reset

If the computer does not respond to keyboard or touchpad input, you may have to close programs that are not responding. If closing unresponsive programs does not restore the computer to normal operation, you may have to restart your computer.

If you need to turn off the Gateway M405 notebook and cannot use the operating system shutdown procedure, use the reset switch. Use this method only if you have tried using the following instructions first.
