Left view This is the left view of the Gateway® M320 notebook.

Component Icon Description
A. Ventilation fan   Helps cool internal components.

Caution: Do not block or insert objects into these slots. If these slots are blocked, your notebook may overheat resulting in unexpected shutdown or permanent damage to the notebook.
B. Universal Serial Bus ports (USB port) USB icon Plug USB devices (such as a floppy disk drive, flash drive, printer, scanner, camera, keyboard, or mouse) into these ports. Version 2.0 ports. There are three USB ports on the left side and one on the right side of this notebook.
C. IEEE 1394 port (Optional) IEEE 1394 icon Plug an IEEE 1394 (FireWire® or i.LINK®) device (such as a digital camcorder) into this optional 4-pin IEEE 1394 port.
D. Memory card reader (Optional)   Insert a memory card from a digital camera, MP3 player, PDA, or cellular telephone into the optional memory card reader. The memory card reader supports Memory Stick®, Memory Stick® Pro, MultiMediaCard™, and Secure Digital™ cards.

Note: This notebook ships with a protector in the media slot. To protect the open slot, replace this protector when the media reader is not in use.

PC card eject button   Release the eject button by pressing the eject button once. Press again to release the card.

Note: Unless using the PC eject button to remove a card, verify that the eject button is not extended. A protruding ejector button may be damaged when moving or transporting your notebook.

E. PC Card slot   This slot accepts one Type II PC Card.
