Touchpad The EZ Pad™ on the Gateway® convertible notebook consists of a touchpad (A), a scroll zone (B), and two buttons (C) and (D). When you move your finger on the touchpad, the pointer (arrow) on the screen moves in the same direction. You can use the scroll zone to scroll through documents. Use of the scroll zone may vary from program to program.

Move the pointer on the screen Move pointer Move your finger around on the touchpad. If you run out of space on your touchpad and need to move the pointer farther, pick up your finger, move it to the middle of the touchpad, and then continue moving your finger.
Select an object on the screen Select object Position the pointer over the object. Quickly tap your finger on the touchpad once. This action is called clicking.
Start a program or open a file folder Start program/Open file Position the pointer over the object. Quickly tap your finger on the touchpad twice. This action is called double-clicking.
Access a shortcut menu or find more information about an object on the screen Shortcut Position the pointer over the object. Quickly press and release the right button once. This action is called right-clicking.
Move an object on the screen Move object Position the pointer over the object. Press the left button and hold it down, and then use the touchpad to move, or drag, the object to the appropriate part of the screen. Release the button.
