When you want a maximum bright panel - press this button for XtraBright. Maximum power drives the display brighter than what is normally offered by most other notebooks. A timer that can be set in the BIOS runs for 225 seconds before reverting to the previous bright setting.

A second button press delivers XtraDim. XtraDim is about 4 steps below normal maximum dim panel brightness, and was developed for use in dimly lit environments when you do not need (and do not want) a bright panel, even on regular maximum dim. XtraDim has no timeout, if set to XtraDim, it remains at minimum dim setting until changed or restarted.

A third press button press returns the display to the original setting.
