BatteriesAll rechargeable batteries experience a loss in power retention ability over time.
Batteries are designed (industry wide) to only retain benchmark performance for the first year. After roughly 400 cycles (number varies by platform), the performance starts to decline noticeably.
Normal degradation of battery performance is not covered under the one-year warranty that applies to Gateway notebook computer batteries. Nor do the extended warranty options for the unit itself, apply to the battery.
Replacement batteries can be purchased from the Gateway Accessory Store.
Personal Computer Memory Card International Association (PCMCIA) is an international trade association and standards body. PCMCIA is also used to describe PC Cards themselves, often referred to as PCMCIA Cards. A PCMCIA card is a credit card-size device that connects your notebook. Some the most common examples of a PCMCIA card are wireless, network, and modems for notebook computers.
In a wireless network, all of the computers in your home broadcast their information to one another using radio signals. This makes networking extremely easy, especially if you have computers all over your house. It also makes it easier to move computers around. For example, a notebook with a wireless network card is completely portable throughout the house.
