Q: Why does the notebook not detect any wireless routers?

A: Important: Before proceeding verify that the wireless is turned on and that the wireless status indicator light is lit.

Note: There is both a hardware switch and FN key combinations used to turn the wireless radio on and off. Make sure the hardware switch is in the on position.

If the wireless status indicator light is not lit press the FN +F2 key to turn it on.

With the wireless radio turned on use the following steps to remove and then reinstall the driver. The device will be removed and go though a hardware detection process. During the detection process the driver is loaded automatically.

  1. From the Windows Vista™ default Start menu, click Control Panel.

  2. In the Control Panel window, click Hardware and Sound.

  3. In the Hardware and Sound window, click Device Manager.

  4. In the Device Manager window, double click Network adapters.

  5. Under Network adapters, right click Marvel TOPDOG (TM) PCI-Express 802.11n Wireless (EC85, and then click
    Uninstall.

  6. In the Confirm Device Uninstall dialog box, make sure that the Delete the driver software for this device box is not checked, and then click OK.

  7. The driver is installed.

  8. Restart the computer.

Note: When reinstalling the operating system on a notebook the wireless network must be turned on prior to going through the operating system start up screens or this issue will occur again.
