Q: How do I enroll my fingerprints for the optional fingerprint reader?A: Before you can use the features of the fingerprint reader, you must enroll your fingerprints so your notebook can identify you.
Follow these steps to enroll your fingerprints for the first time.
- From the Windows® Start menu, click All Programs, point to Protector Suite QL, and then click User Enrollment.
Note: If you have previously enrolled a fingerprint, go to step 5.
- In the Fingerprint Software License Agreement dialog box, click I Accept the terms of the License Agreement, and then click OK.

- In the Welcome dialog box, click Next.

- In the Finish dialog box, select the desired option and then click Finish.

- In the User Enrollment dialog box, click Next.

- In the User's Password dialog box, enter your password and then click Next.

- In the Enrollment Hints dialog box, click Next.

Note: If you do not want to run the TouchStrip Tutorial, click to clear the Run interactive tutorial check box. Go to step 11.
- In the Correct Swipe Procedure dialog box, click Next.

- In the Scanning Practice dialog box, swipe your finger. Press your finger down firmly on the fingerprint reader for best results.

- In the Scanning Practice dialog box, swipe your finger 3 more times to complete the practice exercise.

- In the User's Fingers dialog box, click the button above the finger you are enrolling. A new box opens with three empty circles in it.

- Swipe your finger. A sample is created and is indicated by a fingerprint icon in one of the circles. Repeat this two more times to enroll the fingerprint.

- Repeat steps 11 and 12 for each fingerprint you want to enroll. When finished click Next.

- In the Finalization dialog box, click Finish.

- In the Protector Suite QL Introduction dialog box, click Close.

For additional information on the fingerprint reader and the Protector Suite software, from the Windows Vista default Start menu, click All Programs, Protector Suite QL, and then click Help. .
