Q: How do I enable dual monitor display with Intel video in Windows XP?

A: Follow these steps to enable dual monitor display with Intel video in Windows® XP.

  1. Attach a monitor to DVI connector on the port replicator.

  2. Attach a monitor to VGA connector on the port replicator.

  3. Turn on the notebook, and then connect to the port replicator.

  4. Right-click on the Windows® XP desktop, and then click Graphics Properties.

  5. In the Display Devices dialog box, under Multiple Display, click Extended Desktop.

  6. From the drop down lists, select the Primary Device and Secondary Device.

    Note: The device using the DVI Cable is listed as a Digital Display. The device using a VGA Cable is listed as Monitor. The Primary Device is always displayed on the left side.

  7. In the Confirm the Desktop Change dialog box, click OK.

  8. To adjust the digital display settings, click Display Settings, and then select your settings on the Digital Display tab.

  10. To adjust the monitor display settings, click the Monitor tab.

  11. In the Confirm the Desktop Change dialog box, click OK.

  12. To switch back to the single notebook display, click Display Devices, and then under Single Display, click Notebook.
