Battery A CR 2032 battery provides power to the motherboard's real-time clock (RTC) and BIOS memory. The RTC is accurate to ±13 minutes per year at 78 degrees Fahrenheit or 25 degrees Celsius with 3 volts applied. The clock provides a time-of-day clock and a multicentury calendar with alarm features. The RTC supports 242 bytes of battery-backed CMOS RAM in two banks reserved for BIOS use.

To remove the battery, push the retention clip away from the battery, and then remove the battery. When installing the new battery, verify that the positive (+) side faces up.
