The three DIMM sockets are keyed so the DIMMs fit in the sockets only one way. Minimum memory size is 24 megabytes (MB) (8 MB per slot) and the maximum size is 768 MB (256 MB per slot). The BIOS automatically detects memory type, size, and speed. When installing memory, the memory type, size, and speed can vary between the slots. The memory modules do not have to be installed in a certain order. They can be installed in slot 0, 1, or 2. Slot 0 is located toward the rear of the motherboard.
The motherboard supports the following memory features.
- Intel 100-megahertz (MHz) compliant, 168-pin DIMMs with gold-plated contacts.
- Supports Error Checking and Correction (ECC) function.
- Supports 3.3-volt (V) Extended Data Output (EDO) and Synchronous Dynamic RAM (SDRAM) DIMM.
- Single or double-sided DIMMs in the following sizes.
