Memory slots These are the two memory slots on the motherboard. The slots support the following:

  • 1.8 V (only) DDR2 SDRAM Dual Inline Memory Modules (DIMMs) with gold-plated contacts
  • Unbuffered, single-sided or double-sided DIMMs

    Note: Single sided ×16 modules are supported but double-sided ×16 modules are not.

  • Non-ECC DIMMs
  • Serial Presence Detect
  • DDR2 533 or DDR2 400 MHz SDRAM DIMMs
  • Maximum total system memory: 2 GB
  • Minimum total system memory: 128 MB

Note: When using pairs of DIMMs, install only modules with matched densities (number of chips on module). If pairs with mixed densities are installed, only one DIMM is recognized. However, module capacities can vary (512 MB, 1024 MB).
For example, if a 512 MB 1R×16 PC2-4200U memory module with four chips, and a 512 MB 1R×8 PC2-4200U memory module with eight chips are installed, only one of the modules is recognized.
