The RTC is accurate to ±13 minutes per year at 78 degrees Fahrenheit (F) or 25 degrees Celsius (C) with 3 volts (V) applied. The clock provides a time-of-day clock and a multi-century calendar with alarm features. The RTC supports 256 bytes of battery-backed CMOS RAM in two banks reserved for BIOS use.

To remove the battery, push it to the right. Use a small object to lift or pry the left side from the socket. The positive (+) side of the battery is placed face up, and the negative (-) side of the battery is placed face down.
