This 3-pin jumper block determines the BIOS Setup Utility mode. When the jumper is set to configuration mode and the computer is started, the BIOS compares the processor version and the microcode version stored in the BIOS. It then reports if the two match.
Note: Do not move any jumpers with the power on. Always turn off the power before changing a jumper setting. Damage to the motherboard may occur if power is left on while moving the jumper. |
| Function/Mode | Jumper Setting | Configuration |
| Normal | 1 - 2 | | The BIOS uses current configuration information and passwords for starting. |
| Configure | 2 - 3 | | After the POST runs, Setup runs automatically. The Maintenance menu appears. |
| Recovery | None | | The BIOS attempts to recover the BIOS configuration. A recovery disk is required. |
