This is a closer view of the I/O ports on the motherboard. The I/O ports are configured through the BIOS Setup Utility, and most devices are supported by the SMSC I/O Controller.
Note: The mouse and keyboard ports are not interchangeable. Do not try to connect either device to the opposite port.

PS/2 ports
- The +5-volt (V) lines to these connectors are protected with a PolySwitch circuit that, like a self-healing fuse, reestablishes the connection after an overcurrent condition is removed.
- Power to the computer needs to be turned off before a keyboard or mouse is connected or disconnected.
USB version 2.0
Serial port - NS16C550-compatible UARTs supporting data transfers at speeds up to 115.2 kilobits per second (Kbps)
Parallel port - Supports ECP and EPP modes
