The accelerated graphics port (AGP) 1.5-volt (V) switching voltage level (SVL) slot provides a dedicated high-speed bus with the 84510G memory controller hub (MCH). This motherboard supports AGP 4X. When an AGP video card is placed in the slot, it automatically overrides the integrated video on the AGP bus.
This AGP slot also has an integrated AGP card retention mechanism. To release the AGP card, squeeze the tabs together and remove the card.
The AGP slot has the following features:
- Pipelined memory read and write operations that hide memory access latency
- Demultiplexing of address and data on the bus for nearly 100 percent efficiency
Note: The motherboard does not support legacy AGP cards using the 3.3-V specification. Use of these cards prevents the computer from starting. |
