Front Panel Audio Jumper Jumper setting

The two graphics above show the front panel audio connector and jumpers. As shown, the jumpers are set to route audio line out signals to the back panel line out connector. This is because the front panel audio connector is not currently used by Gateway.

Gateway does not support removal of these jumpers except when connecting a front audio cable in configurations that have front audio connectors.

Notes:

  • Placing the jumpers in the wrong position may damage the motherboard.
  • If the jumpers are removed and a front audio cable placed on the pins, the audio signal is no longer routed to the audio ports on the rear of the computer.
  • Simultaneous use of the front and rear audio connectors is not supported.

The following table provides pin out information for the connector.

Pin Signal Name Pin Signal Name
1 MIC_IN 2 Ground
3 MIC_BIAS 4 +5 V
5 RIGHT_OUT 6 RIGHT_IN
7 No connect 8 Key
9 LEFT_OUT 10 LEFT_IN
