The communications network riser (CNR) slot allows for a new connection style using the USB bus through the 82801BA controller hub (ICH2). The CNR slot accepts modems and networking devices manufactured to comply with the CNR specifications.
Note: Gateway does not support use of the CNR slot at this time. The CNR slot is disabled through the USB/CNR jumper, so that both USB ports on the front of the computer are functional. If the CNR slot is used, one of the USB ports on the front of the computer will be disabled. |
