A
CR 2032 battery provides power to the real-time clock (RTC) and CMOS memory. The RTC is accurate to ±13 minutes per year at 78° F (25° C) with 3 volts applied.
The clock provides a time-of-day clock and a multicentury calendar with alarm features. The RTC supports 256 bytes of battery-backed CMOS RAM in two banks reserved for BIOS use. |

To remove the battery, push the tab at the top away from the battery, and then lift the battery out of the socket.
When installing the new battery, verify that the positive (+) side faces the + sign silk-screened on the motherboard beside the socket (refer to the graphic above). Follow electrostatic discharge precautions when removing or replacing the battery. |
