| This is the battery on the motherboard. The CR 2032 battery provides power to the real-time clock (RTC) and BIOS (CMOS) memory.
The RTC is accurate to ±13 minutes per year at 78 degrees Fahrenheit (F) or 25 degrees Celsius (C) with 3 volts (V) applied. The clock provides a time-of-day clock and a multi-century calendar with alarm features. The RTC supports 256 bytes of battery-backed CMOS RAM in two banks reserved for BIOS use.
To remove the battery, press the retaining clip away from the battery, and then remove the battery from the socket.
When installing a battery, the positive (+) side of the battery faces up. |
