Use the following steps to connect the cables to the display. Refer to the graphic and table at the bottom of the page for connector locations and identifications.

1. Position your computer and the display so that you can reach the rear of each.

2. Under the rear of the display, connect the display power cord to the power connector (item A in the graphic below).

   Note: If desired, all cables can be routed through the opening in the stand. If you plan to use the display in portrait mode, make sure there is enough slack in the cables to allow the screen to rotate.

3. Connect either the white DVI cable or blue VGA cable to the matching video connector on the display (E or F).

4. Connect the other end of the video cable to the matching video port on the rear of the computer.

   Note: If your computer has an HDMI digital audio/video connector, plug an HDMI cable (not included) into the display's HDMI connector (D) and into the computer's HDMI connector.

5. Connect other video sources (such as a DVD player, video camera, or receiver) to the appropriate audio and video connectors on the the display.
   • For basic analog video quality, connect your video device's composite video in jack to the composite video connector (H) on the rear of the display (cable not included).
   • For better analog video quality, connect your video device's S-Video jack to the S-Video connector (I) on the rear of the display (cable not included).
   • For best analog video quality, connect your video device's component video (green Y, blue Pb, red Pr) jacks to the component video connectors (G) on the rear of the display (cables not included).

6. Plug the loose end of the display's power cord into a correctly grounded electrical outlet.

7. Turn on the display, and then turn on the computer or other audio/video device. The type of video connection, such as VGA, DVI, or HDMI, is identified by a box that is briefly displayed.
