Enumeration of the USB hub

Note: Do not unplug the USB cable during the enumeration. The enumeration of the USB hub may be necessary for each USB port on the computer.
  1. Turn on the monitor and the computer.

  2. Connect the computer and the monitor with a USB cable. An Add New Hardware Wizard dialog box appears.

  3. In the Add New Hardware Wizard dialog box, click Next.

  4. In the Add New Hardware Wizard dialog box, click Finish to complete the enumeration.

You can confirm that the USB hub is enumerated successfully with the following method.

  1. On your screen, locate and click the Start button. From the Start menu, click Settings, and then click Control Panel. In Control Panel, click the System icon.

  2. In the System Properties dialog box, click the Device Manager tab.

  3. Verify that Generic USB HUB is listed under Universal Serial Bus Controller.

If a splat appears with Generic USB HUB, then enumeration was unsuccessful. Select Generic USB HUB marked with a splat and click Remove and Refresh. The enumeration automatically starts again.
