Windows 2000 Installation from Server Companion CD 2.6 - Later

- Place Server Companion CD (SCCD) version 2.6 and later in the CD/DVD drive. Close the browser interface that appears.
- From the Start menu, click Run.
- In the Run dialog box, click Browse. Locate the Setup.exe file. This file is located at D:\Drivutil\Win_2k\Add_ons\Modem\Act_tec\Setup.exe (where D is the drive letter of the CD/DVD drive). Click OK.

- Setup prepares and copies files.

- The driver is installed. In the Setup Complete dialog box, click Finish. Remove the disk.

- In the Reboot dialog box, click OK.

- After the computer restarts, place the SCCD in the CD/DVD drive. Close the browser interface that appears.
- From the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- In Control Panel, double-click the Phone and Modems icon.

- In the Phone and Modem Options dialog box, on the Modems tab, click Add.

- In the Add/Remove Hardware Wizard dialog box, select the Don't detect my modem; I will select it from a list check box, and then click Next.

- In the next dialog box, click Have Disk.

- In the Install From Disk dialog box, in the Copy manufacturer's files from box, verify that D:\ is selected (assuming that D is the drive letter of the CD/DVD drive). Click Browse to locate and select the .inf file at the following path: D:\Driveutil\Win_2k\Add_ons\Modem\Act_tec\Mdmatpci.inf. Click Open.

- In the Install From Disk dialog box, click OK.

- In the Add/Remove Hardware Wizard dialog box, in the Models list, select Actiontec V.90 PCI Modem, and then click Next.

- A port needs to be selected. For a PCI modem, the standard port is communications (COM) port 2. Select the appropriate port, and then click Next.

- In the Digital Signature Not Found dialog box, click Yes.

- The modem is set up successfully. Click Finish.
