  1. Place Server Companion CD (SCCD) version 2.6 and later in the CD/DVD drive. Close the browser interface that appears.

  2. From the Start menu, click Run.

  3. In the Run dialog box, click Browse. Locate the Setup.exe file. This file is located at D:\Drivutil\Win_2k\Add_ons\Modem\Act_tec\Setup.exe (where D is the drive letter of the CD/DVD drive). Click OK.

  4. Setup prepares and copies files.

  5. The driver is installed. In the Setup Complete dialog box, click Finish. Remove the disk.

  6. In the Reboot dialog box, click OK.

  7. After the computer restarts, place the SCCD in the CD/DVD drive. Close the browser interface that appears.

  8. From the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

  9. In Control Panel, double-click the Phone and Modems icon.

  10. In the Phone and Modem Options dialog box, on the Modems tab, click Add.

  11. In the Add/Remove Hardware Wizard dialog box, select the Don't detect my modem; I will select it from a list check box, and then click Next.

  12. In the next dialog box, click Have Disk.

  13. In the Install From Disk dialog box, in the Copy manufacturer's files from box, verify that D:\ is selected (assuming that D is the drive letter of the CD/DVD drive). Click Browse to locate and select the .inf file at the following path: D:\Driveutil\Win_2k\Add_ons\Modem\Act_tec\Mdmatpci.inf. Click Open.

  14. In the Install From Disk dialog box, click OK.

  15. In the Add/Remove Hardware Wizard dialog box, in the Models list, select Actiontec V.90 PCI Modem, and then click Next.

  16. A port needs to be selected. For a PCI modem, the standard port is communications (COM) port 2. Select the appropriate port, and then click Next.

  17. In the Digital Signature Not Found dialog box, click Yes.

  18. The modem is set up successfully. Click Finish.
