Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why does my Gateway LD-220 DVD Player/Receiver not completely power up so that I can use the unit?A: By design, pressing the Power button on the front of the DVD Player/Receiver only powers the unit to a standby mode. To make the unit fully functional, on the front of unit, press the Function button. Unlike this unit, most Home DVD/Home Theater systems do not have a fully integrated standby mode, so they do not operate in the same manner.
Use the following steps to turn on or turn off the unit:
- Connect the power cord to the rated AC socket. On the front of the DVD Player/Receiver, press the Power button. The indicator lights up.
- On the front of the DVD Player/Receiver, press the Function button or, on the remote control, press the Power button. The unit is fully functional and is in DVD mode.
- To return the unit to standy mode, on the remote control, press the Power button. In standby mode, to completely turn the unit off, on the front of the DVD Player/Receiver, press the Power button.
