Running Extended Test Using GWSCAN 5.07

Note: Back up all data before proceeding.

  1. Place the Gateway Drivers CD 22.3 -23.8 in the CD/DVD drive. If a window opens, close it.

  2. Restart the computer.

  3. During restart, from the Select an option menu, select 2. Boot from the CD-ROM, and then press the ENTER key.

  4. From the next Select an option menu, select 1. English, 2. French, or 3. Spanish, and then press ENTER.

  5. On the Gateway Utilities Main Menu screen, press the X key to select Exit to a Command Prompt.

  6. At the command prompt, type: Gwscan.exe. Press ENTER.

  7. From the GWSCAN 5.07 - Data Lifeguard Diagnostics main menu, use the DOWN ARROW key to select Extended Test, and then press ENTER.

  8. On the Extended Test screen, you are informed that Quick Test runs first, followed by a Full Media Scan. To begin the test, press the R key.

  9. When the Quick Test is complete, to continue with the Full Media Scan, press the C key. Press any key to stop.

  10. When the Full Media Scan is complete, to return to the main menu, press the ESC key.

  11. Additional options may be selected at this time, or to exit the program, use the DOWN ARROW key to select Quit.

  12. Restart the computer.
