Audio/Video Connections These are the audio and video connections located in the AV connections access panel on the Gateway® 23-inch and 26-inch LCD TVs. refer to the following table for more information.

Item Connector Function
A UHF/VHF Connects to a VHF/UHF antenna or cable TV.
B S-Video (S1 and S2) Connects to an S-Video device, such as a VCR, DVD player, satellite dish receiver, or digital cable box.
S-Video provides better quality video than a composite connection.
C Composite Video/Audio in (AV1 and AV2) Connects to a composite audio/video device, such as a VCR or DVD player.
Composite video provides standard quality video and is available on most video devices.
D Component HDTV Video/Audio in (YPBPR) Connects to a component video device, such as an HDTV set-top box or progressive-scan DVD player. Supports 480i, 480p, 720p, and 1080i signals.
Component video provides the best quality video.
E Subwoofer Connects to a subwoofer.

Note: The S-Video and yellow composite video jack cannot both be used at the same time. For example, if connecting a DVD player to AV1 using the S-Video connection, do not connect a device to the AV1 composite video jack. However, AV1 and AV2 can be connected to separate video device using different video connections.
