Frequently Asked Questions

Q: After connecting the input TV cable to the television, when I use the remote control, I cannot surf to some channels. However, if I enter a channel number on the remote control, I can view that channel. How do I add those channels?

A: Most cable-ready televisions have an option within the television On-Screen-Display (OSD) to add or delete channels to a list of available channels for viewing. There is also an option to scan all of the channels available for the specific type of input source; such as Antenna (Air) or Cable TV. Generally, during the initial setup of the television, the option to automatically scan the channels is recommended after connecting the signal input cables. This should detect all those channels that provide a sufficient signal. If the signal is week and not detected during the scan, it will not be listed or displayed when changing the channels with the remote control.

Additionally, the OSD for the TV may also provide an option to individually add or delete channels. If a single channel is not listed, it can be added individually. If there is a channel listed that does not have a picture or if display of a specific channel is not wanted, it can be individually removed from the list. However, all the channels are accessible by inputting the actual channel number with the remote control.
