AV Out Connectors

AV out connectors These are the AV Out connectors on the rear of the DVD recorder. Each connector, or group of connectors, is described below.

Component Video Out connectors (Y, Cb, Cr) - Plug the cables for a component video TV into these jacks. A component video connection provides the best quality video. For more information, see the "Understanding video connections" section of the User's Guide.

Audio R, L (analog) - Plug the audio cables for a composite TV into these jacks. The white RCA jack carries the left audio signal and the red RCA jack carries the right audio signal.

Composite Video Out - This is the yellow jack. A composite video connection provides basic quality video connection and is commonly available on many electronic components.

S-Video Out - Plug an S-Video TV into this jack. An S-Video connection provides better quality video than a composite video connection, but not as good as a component video connection.

Coaxial Digital Audio Out - Plug a coaxial digital audio device into this jack. This audio connection provides better quality sound than an analog audio connection.

Optical Digital Audio Out - Plug an optical digital audio device into this jack. This audio connection provides the best quality sound.
