Q: How do I troubleshoot a Gateway DVD Recorder that does not power on?

  1. Ensure that the AC power cord is plugged in securely to the wall outlet and into the rear of the DVD Recorder.

  2. If you are using a surge protector, ensure that it is turned on. If the Gateway DVD Recorder still does not power on with the surge protector turned on, plug the DVD Recorder directly into the wall outlet.

  3. Ensure that the Power button on the front of the recorder is pressed in.

  4. If you are using the remote control, ensure that the batteries are inserted correctly. If the batteries are inserted correctly, they may not have a charge. Replace the batteries if needed.
