Q: Why does the camera not record any sound when creating a movie clip?

A: The basic function of the camera is to take still photographs. The functionality of the microphone is a separate action and was added as an additional feature for the camera. The movie clip feature of the camera does not include the microphone function and the microphone function can not be activated while recording movie clips. The camera does not permit recording movie clips and audio at the same time. When the microphone function is activated, there will be a small microphone icon displayed on the LCD monitor. The microphone can be activated when reviewing pictures and recording up to ten seconds of sound for a specific picture. See the User's Manual for further details.
